2022 Introduces
Parent Inclusion
We heard you parents! You want to be a part of camp. We have a couple exciting new opportunities.
This year we will have three, optional but strongly encouraged social gatherings after camp on scheduled Fridays. These will be an opportunity to mingle and get to know other families who are a part of camp as well as hear and see what we have been doing at camp.
Another opportunity to be a part of camp is to volunteer as a chaperone. At this time chaperones will have to drive separately in their own vehicle, but we welcome any parent or adult involved in a camper's life to join camp to help assist with daily functions of camp and also just to be a part of our amazing adventurous community atmosphere! Duties may include, sunblock application supervision, equipment management, small group supervision, and any expertise you may bring to camp. We welcome hobbyists and professionals to share their skill or trade! If you are interested in a day or week of being a chaperone, let us know, we would be happy to have you!
The third opportunity to bring in family involvement is this year’s introduction of Family Camp! It will be a day camp setting 10am-2pm on a saturday where the whole family is invited to come along. There are two family events scheduled this summer. Registration is for a whole family and there will be separate adult activities simultaneous to kid activities as well as combined games and performances. How does a giant Adult vs Children shaving cream battle sound? Or Tasty Tuesday challenge on a saturday?? Want to build a family time capsule to be sealed for 1, 2, 5 or 10 years?? Come find out what we do while away on adventures!
Leadership Program
This year we are so excited to announce the launch of our Leadership Program! Campers who are 14 and older and have attended at least three weeks of camp (over their lifetime, not just in 2022) are invited to sign up for leadership training Wild Adventure Camp style! Registration is the same and done through the registration portal for the week of their choice. However, campers enrolled in the leadership program will have additional duties to learn and pass on principles of Leave No Trace, Wild Adventure Camp policies and outdoor safety. They will also be mentors and aides to younger campers and will receive support and training in social and emotional learning, and mentorship skills. Each Leadership Camper will get to choose an area of expertise to share with the group, maybe this is an interest and skill they have already been working on or something they develop at camp, either way they will have a platform to lead the whole group in an activity they feel compelled to share. Additionally, Leadership Campers will be invited to join an overnight, leaders-only event at the end of summer designed by them! Any leadership camper who has completed at least three weeks of Leadership training and is over 16 will be eligible for employment with Wild Adventure Camp beginning 2023. To register as a Leadership Camper, simply indicate your interest in the text box at time of enrollment and we will review your intake form to ensure your child meets eligibility and then we will be in contact about what to expect.
